The company was founded in 1997 with the aim to become a hospitality industry leader through establishing a world class portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts. Mona speaks to us about her career journey in the hospitality industry. “Throughout a career span of over 12 years, I have worked over 8 years within the hospitality industry. I started a job as Administrative Assistant in the Training Department of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah where I worked for almost three years. After completing my postgraduate studies, I’ve got an opportunity as HR Manager with Grand Hyatt Dubai. There, I was in charge of establishing the Emiratization strategy of the hotel and managing the day to day HR operation. “In December 2014, I have returned to Jumeirah, this time as a Director of Human Resources in Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, the contemporary lifestyle brand of Jumeirah. During my time there, I was a member of the Executive Committee in the hotel, heading the HR and Learning and Development division and responsible for designing and implementing effective people strategies in the hotel to support the overall business strategy. I have won several industry awards for my achievements and contributions throughout my tenure with Jumeirah Creekside Hotel.” Mona has recently been promoted to Director of Human Resources in the majestic Ottoman inspired resort Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Mona urges individuals who would like to be hoteliers to assess their strengths and have a clear picture in mind of what they would like to achieve. The selected job role must be in alignment with their life purpose. She also detailed what attributes are integral to succeed in the industry.
