AFFILIATIONS Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is a global professional body that promotes and enforces the highest international standards in the valuation, management and development of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. It also accredits professionals within the land, property, construction, and infrastructure sectors worldwide. The Chartered Institute of Building The CIOB was established in London on 6 March 1834 (the same year the RIBA was founded) as the Builders Society by an eminent group of 15 Master Builders to suppress trade unions and to uphold and promote reputable standards of building through friendly interaction, the useful exchange of information, greater uniformity and respectability in business. Chartered Institute of Arbitrators The CIArb is an international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The CIArb provides education and training for arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators. It also acts as a global hub for practitioners, policy makers, academics and those in business, supporting the global promotion, facilitation and development of all ADR methods. Society of Construction Law Since its foundation in 1983, the Society of Construction Law has worked to promote for the public benefit, education, study and research in the field of construction law and related subjects (including ADR, arbitration and adjudication), both in the UK and overseas.
