Having recently found success in the African Excellence Awards 2020, we got in touchwith Basil Madukwe to find out more about how they established a reputation inNigeria for offering an exceptional technical consulting service. To start, Basil provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into its clientele. “Here at Allott, we are typically involved in marine engineering, highway and railway engineering and environmental impact assessments amongst other areas. With each director having such a thorough understanding of their division, we hold them accountable for all stages of our projects.” The technical consulting arena can often be a challenging one to operate in, however as Basil goes on to explain, its client approach has enabled the firm to stand out from the crowd. “Naturally, we collaborate closely with our clients and other professionals in order to meet the standards expected. This combined with our head office team of specialists who are always available to offer advice and support, has helped the firm become a powerhouse in Nigeria’s technical consulting industry.” In its time Allott has completed several marine and railway engineering projects in Nigeria, which Basil goes on to discuss in greater detail. “In November 2000 alongside Beckett Rankine Partnership UK, we completed the environmental impact assessment, project management and detailed engineering design of Atlas Cement Terminal, Onne Port Harcourt. This project involved an environmental impact assessment, dredging to deepen the channel and the use of dredged spoil for land reclamation. In the public sector, we have completed numerous railway design projects. For example, while working as sub consultants for Roughton International UK on a Nigerian national railway rehabilitation project, we carried out a detailed condition assessment survey of the entire network.” “We carried out the Environmental Impact Assessment ( EIA ) for the construction of the Warri- Mbiama-Portharcourt-Eket -Oron dual carriage highway in 2018 and also successfully implemented in collaboration with NESPAK - (National Engineering Services Pakistan ) the design & Constrution supervision for the Enugu State Worldbank Rural Access & Mobility Project in 2020.” “We are currently involved in the following projects among others .. 1- Environmental Impact Mitigation Monitoring for Lekki Deep Sea Port in Lagos 2- Environmental Impact Assessment for the proposed Grimaldi PTML truck park & office development in Lagos 3- Environmental Compliance Monitoring for the Grimaldi PTML terminal Lagos 4- Environmental Impact Assessment for the the proposed helipad & waste treatment facility for LADOL - (Lagos Deep off Shore Logistics Base.)” Finally, Basil comments on the firm’s future prospects as we look ahead to Q2 of 2021 and beyond. “Moving forward, our goal is to maintain our outstanding reputation in the engineering industry as we seek to take more clients onboard, tackling new and challenging projects.” Company: Allott (Nigeria) Limited Contact: Attahiru Usman Website: www.allottnigeria.com Aug20368
