Founded in 2006, Vertical Field develops nature based solutions to improve food supply and quality of life in the urban ecosystem. From designing and integrating Smart and Active living walls, through to providing portable urban farms, Vertical Field markets proprietary nature- based solutions that enable cultivation of healthy and fresh food in cities, as well as improve the environmental and health conditions for city residents. Working closely with customers, the firm helps them to implement and integrate their products as part of their daily business, which includes supermarkets, hotels, food retailers, hospitals, corporates and others, to ensure that all stakeholders enjoy the benefits and value of Vertical Field’s solutions. As for what the future has in store for the team at Vertical Field, Guy signs off by revealing just some of the exciting plans which lie in the pipeline the firm, highlighting the exciting launch of one of their latest projects, VboX®. “Moving forward, one very important project that is set to launch early next year is our VboX®. VboX® is a portable farm built in a recycled shipping container. It can be located anywhere and is capable of growing and distributing more than 200 different crops. We place the VboX® near a supermarket store, in the parking lot of a restaurant, or on the roof of a hotel, and with our technology, the customer can easily grow hundreds of different crops to be harvested and served on the same day. “The result? The produce is fresh, healthy, with zero pesticides and super tasty. Vbox® uses 90% less water than conventional agricultural methods and consumes less electricity than any other vertical farming solution.” Ultimately, the future looks bright for the team at Vertical Field as they continue to expand their business, their presence and the services they provide in the years to come, whilst remaining at the forefront of innovation and developments within the industry.
