We caught up with Akshay Jog to learn more about the firm and the range of products it creates. Polyester Film Provider of the Year – Turkey Polyplex Europa has its manufacturing location at Çorlu in the western part of Turkey. The company is engaged in manufacture of Polyester Film and its various downstream value-added products. The manufacturing unit consists of two Polyester Film lines, one Polyester Resin plant, three metal transfer lines and one offline coater. All the assets employ state of the art of manufacturing technology and allow the firm to produce innovative and versatile products of exacting standards. Use of Polyester Film in packaging increases the shelf life of the food items and makes the product more appealing to the customers. In the Greater Europe region including Turkey, move to ‘Ready to eat’ and convenience foods will be the main driver for the demand for Polyester Film in this segment. Industrial applications of Polyester Film include optical, electrical, electronics, construction, imaging, photovoltaic cells etc. Additionally, Polyester Film continues to have new applications every few years. Recent innovations include use of Polyester Film in LCD screens, photovoltaic cells and mobile screen scratch resistant covers. The demand in this segment will be driven by normal uptick in the global demand and increase in the innovative uses of Polyester Film due to its versatility and relatively lower cost compared to its alternatives. As such, there are many possibilities for Polyplex to build upon its current success and grow even further moving forward. With regards to the future of the group, Akshay is confident that Polyplex can continue to achieve success as the group as a whole prepares for exciting developments. “Looking ahead, Polyplex Thailand, the parent company of Polyplex Europa is in the process of establishing a Greenfield manufacturing unit in Indonesia. This project will commission the fastest, widest and most productive line ever in the world. This decision is in line with the track record of Polyplex Group in being at the forefront of technological evolution in the manufacture of Polyester Film. This Polyester Film line will have nameplate capacity of 44,000 MTPA and will be commissioned by Q3 2019.
