SADC Banking Association

Established in 1998 by the CCBG, the SADC Banking Association (SADC BA) works with regulators to strengthen banking integrity, efficiency, and regional financial integration under the Finance and Investment Protocol. As a recognized SADC structure, it actively contributes to financial markets, banking supervision, and exchange control sub-committees, notably driving the strategic SADC Payments Project. The SADC BA provides regional leadership to transform and integrate the banking sector. By maximizing cooperation among member associations, it fosters harmonized, sustainable banking services and enhances regulatory capacity to attract investment. The Secretariat’s current core focus areas are financial inclusion, regulatory compliance, Payments Training, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
