Stellenbosch Brewing Co. prides itself in creating inspired beers for inspired moments. It is SA’s most decorated brewery and continues to win awards. In 2019, Stellies won three medals in the African Beer Cup, Best Dark Beer at the Cape Town Festival of Beer and a Gold Medal in the South African National Beer Trophy. They also been awarded the highest merit a craft brewery in can receive, the coveted SANBT 2017 Beer of the Year. Stellies have also consistently won awards in the Sommeliers Selection awards. Stellies are eco-conscious and use no single-use plastic in their operations. They are at the forefront of innovation and recently introduced SA’s first CBD infused beer called Cann-O-Bliss. It was on a cross-continental camping trip that founder brewer Bruce Collins and his wife, operations manager Karen Collins conspired to opening up a microbrewery in South Africa. After sampling beers from around the world and trying their hand at brewing in a Minnesota basement, they developed a passion for brewing interesting and flavourful beers and wanted to share them with the world. It took them six more years of researching, reading, learning, trialling and (the best part) tasting beers and obtaining the necessary brewing licenses and certifications before they were totally happy with the recipes. They sure did put in the hours of love, sweat and dedication that have made their beers truly unique and a cut above the rest. These guys really know their beer!
